Wounded Warrior Fund Raiser

A letter from Charles (Chuck) P. White:

To Whom It May Concern:

After seventeen years in the United States Marine Corps I retired as a Gunnery Sergeant and my son is currently on active duty, stationed in Miramar in San Diego, California. I now am actively involved in the Marine Corps League. The Marine Corp League, which is charged with keeping the Marine Corps Tradition alive, promote the good will through community service and mentorship for younger Marines who are defending or have defended our freedom and way of life.

I am an active member of the Lt. General Victor “Brute” Krulak Detachment of Hoover/Shelby County, Alabama. One of our major objectives in 2014 is to support wounded veterans in need. To that end, and as you know, several Wounded Warrior programs exist that provide support and services to severely injured military personnel during the time between their active duty and retirement. This is not only for severely injured Marine’s, but members from all branches of our armed forces. Unfortunately, many of the services offered, such as Combat Stress Recovery Program, Family Retreats, and Economic Empowerment are not covered in full by veteran benefits. Our Detachment is planning to host a paintball Tournament on January 18, 2014 to raise funds for the “Wounded Warrior” Lima Foxtrot Program at The Lakeshore Foundation, Birmingham, Alabama. This will benefit many of America’s Wounded Warriors nationally as well as locally..

Lest we forget, I am sending this letter on behalf of our wounded warriors and I humbly ask if your organization would consider becoming a sponsor or making a donation to help make the paintball tournament fundraiser a success. Twelve paintball teams will take the field to compete for a wounded warrior and glory. Can our wounded warriors count on you to be a sponsor and or make a donation, e.g. monetary, tangible services, or raffle items? Your support would be greatly appreciated. The Marine Corps League is a {501  (c) 4 non-profit, and all donations are tax deductible.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions and for details.

Semper Fidelis,
