It always amazes me that in this complex world we live in
things are really simple….we just make them complex.
Take a minute, stop and think about this past year. What is
the first thing you think of? Attacks on the US
Embassy in Libya, the presidential election, the acts of violence perpetrated in our country and around the world, were any of these the first
thought that came into your mind?
For me when I stop and think about my year a few things come
to mind first: Abigail's first day of kindergarten in ‘big school’, how excited Hannah
was to be in her first beauty pageant, explaining Heaven to Harper about 100 times and trying
to help her understand why Paw-Paw cannot come to visit us, the girls putting on makeup setting around
the table at a Mary Kay party, Harper and I sneaking off during the week to Steel City Pops, baking cookies with the kids, Harper helping me
cook dinner while I remind her to stay away from the stove, playing with the girls at the beach, sitting
in the backyard with family and friends for
July 4th fireworks,
staying up late to play scrabble with Jay and Hannah after the little girls have
gone to bed, Jay and I catching fireflies with the girls….I can go on and on. With all that goes on in our complex world,
my important memories are simple and close to home.
As Jay I grow older and the girls grow up I know that these
memories will start to fade but I know we can always pull
out a box of photographs, sit down in the floor and relive those moments just like they were yesterday and
maybe create another timeless memory doing
so.
Live life pure & simple and make memories timeless.
I wish you all a Happy New Year!
